CURRENT PROGRAMS

A strong relationship between horse and human begins on the ground. Before ever getting in the saddle, riders must learn about animal behavior, handling, grooming, and tack.
Understanding these fundamentals fosters confidence, patience, and responsibility—qualities essential for a foundation of trust and respect.
SPHF horsemanship is based on US Pony Club curriculum and is designed to prepare participants to safely engage with horses and develop a sense of stewardship and connection that extends beyond the barn.
Horsemanship

Once participants have completed the Introductory Horsemanship Program, the next step is ensuring that participants develop safe, correct riding habits —giving them a secure and enjoyable start on horseback.
Designed to instill essential skills, these early lessons lay the groundwork for proper rider fitness and a lifelong connection with horses, whether for recreation, sport, or therapy.
Working with horses teaches patience, discipline, self-awareness, and resilience. As riders gain confidence in their abilities, they will also build problem-solving skills and emotional awareness.
Beginner Riders

*IN DEVELOPMENT* Our mission is to shape a future where equine activities thrive. Through partnerships with equestrian centers and sports programs, we connect graduates of Horsemanship and Beginner Rider Programs with new opportunities to advance.
Where appropriate, the Rising Riders may provide need-based support so financial limitations do not prevent passionate riders from pursuing their dreams.
By breaking financial barriers, we help create a more inclusive and accessible equestrian community where talent and dedication—not income—determine participation.
